Los epiornítidos (Aepyornithidae), conocíes como aves elefante, son un clado d'aves paleognates estintes non esnaladores endémiques de Madagascar.^[1]^[2] Según los últimos estudios moleculares, los epiornítidos son grupu hermanu de los quivis neozelandeses.^[3]
